The Tech Guys were called to fix the Wi-Fi connection to a large venue in Soho; it was a small job; we went to the site the same day, set up the network and handed it over. This was a beginning of a massive project we have been awarded through this minor fix.
About six months later, the Operations Director called back as he wanted to see us in their Head Office to discuss some ideas they had for their expanding company portfolio.
Apparently, out of their 18 sites, the one with a working network was the only one we break-fixed roughly half a year back (even though it was just an emergency fix).
The bar chain asked us to survey all their venues and complete an audit of their wired and wireless network, including their internet connections.
After completing the audits, we quoted for new wired and wireless networks and new internet line installations; we have been appointed to complete the whole chain.
In around ten months, all 18 sites were upgraded entirely/changed and deployed complete data cabling for wired and wireless networks, EPOS systems, PDQ devices, Wi-Fi access points, access control and alarm, and everything technology related.
While the agreed works have been completed, the chain also opened an additional seven sites and a new Head Office, as the client was delighted with our work, speed and ethic, we have been rewarded with all these other jobs too.
Towards the completion of the whole portfolio, the client asked if we could also make the same approach with all their CCTV systems. The situation was the same, so they were disappointed with their current provider and work.
This means that even before we completed their networks, we also jumped on their CCTV systems, audited, upgraded, updated and changed, and did whatever was the most time, cost and usability-effective approach.
Now they have a centralised server in their Head Office, with full view and control over all of their currently 25 (and growing) venues just a click away. Images can be removed remotely from here without needing to attend the affected site. Beyond this, the centralised access has thousands of unbelievably good capabilities, and guess what… with no additional cost!
At the end of this project, we installed around 700 CCTV cameras, 1100 data points, 135 Wi-Fi access points, around 700TB worth of secure storage, and about 290 miles length of Cat6 cables, to mention the key elements.
Within a calendar year, their system went from zero to absolute HERO.
Now they have a fully compliant CCTV system on all of their sites, all hard drives have been upgraded to cover more than 31 days of footage on all the sites, they all have secure VPN connections, all local computers have remote desktop support solution, and the whole lot is on Gigabit speed. All venues have fibre or equal-speed internet.
All devices, including but not limited to CCTV systems, access control, Wi-Fi, tills etc., are remotely accessible for complete control and support.
All of the venues on this job are in or around central London, which comes with many challenges, including transport of materials, access, working hours etc. We, The Tech Guys, work around the clock. We do installations overnight, Saturdays and Sundays, and on Bank Holidays; our installation schedules are 100% flexible.
Upon completing the job, the client requested to cover all their sites and Head Office with complete IT and CCTV support.
As of now, this has been ongoing also for over six months with the customers' complete satisfaction.
